What does the high level process look like?We usually start by getting a good understanding of why exactly you need a Studio so we can guide you to choose the right dimensions and specification. Usually at this stage we can also provide you with an initial quote and some preliminary plans. We always encourage you to visit our show Studio located in Eeklo, Belgium so that you can get a good sense of how special our Studios are. Once we have your desired configuration, we can arrange a visit to come and look at the suitability of the site. Once the site passes our preliminary checks, we will order a soil test to determine if our foundation system and weight of the Studio can be properly supported. At this time we will also make note of any potential complications in terms of transport and access. Depending on where you are located and the specifics of your plot, you may be required to get a building permit. We will try and guide you as much as possible and provide you with all the plans you need to get it approved. A final turnkey cost including foundation (if requested), transportation (if requested), and installation (included) will be sent over for you to review and approve. Once approved, an initial downpayment is required to start the process. A project plan is shared so you can keep track of progress and timings. It is also time to start thinking of a name for your Studio as a custom plaque will be created to make it truly personal to you. Depending on material availability and capacity, a build slot will be assigned for your Studio. Manufacturing happens in stages and for a regular sized Studio (10 m2) it is typically around 2-3 months or sooner. Be aware that during the manufacturing process, we can no longer handle any change requests. Now that the manufacturing of your Studio is well under way, it's time to think about preparing your site. If the site needs to be levelled, this would need to be arranged by you in advance of the foundation stage. We have access to a great network of landscapers and can provide you quotes for that work. A contractor and qualified electrician will be required to dig a trench and run conduits for electricity and data from your primary home to the location of the Studio. Once the site is prepped, we will arrange to install the foundations a few weeks or days before the arrival of the Studio. The installation time is typically less than a day. Our transportation partners will deliver the Studio to the site. If the road needs to be blocked off, our team will ensure the right permits are in place ahead of time to reduce any impact to you and your neighbours. The installation team will ensure that the site is safe before we hoist the Studio to its new home and secure it. A qualified electrician will connect the Studio to the connection points previously installed. Put your indoor slippers on - your Studio is now ready to be enjoyed! During the next 30 days of use we would encourage you to note any snags that you would like us to fix. Your Studio has been designed to be low maintenance and durable and includes a 10 year warranty.

Is the Studio moveable?Absolutely! The Studio will always keep the hidden hoisting system that forms part of the overall structure. This means that if you ever wanted to move the Studio to a new location or if you considered selling it, this makes it all possible.

How much do Studios cost? That is really dependent on the configuration and spec. We usually start off with either an interior width of 220 or 280 cm. You can then decide how short or how long you want the back wall (the longest wall as the front side has a curved wall) to be. An aluminium sliding door is always included on the side of the terrace and you can choose from a few different terrace sizes. How many windows you want to include and what sizes and colours is entirely up to you. The interior is pre-finished in the wonderful sight and smell of natural wood and for the flooring you can choose from a range of natural cork colours and patterns. All Studios come standard with a lighting and electrics package dependent on the size although we offer many upgrades and options in this area. On the outside you can choose from standard or premium wood facades and we can finish them in a variety of different colours. For the wonderful curved roofline you can choose from a range of zinc colours and the top of the roof is either finished in EPDM or EPDM + Sedum (green roof). A member of our team would be delighted to take you through all the options.

How long does it take to get one installed?Around 3 months including permits, manufacturing, site prep, foundation, transportation, and installation. A large variable we have no control over are planning permissions as they differ so much between councils and countries. As long as there are no material shortages or delays, manufacturing is the most predictable as it all happens within the area we control - our factory. For a typical base Studio we usually aim to have it complete within 2-3 months. A soil test will take 1-2 weeks, and installing the foundation is around 1 day. Transportation should take no longer than 1 day and installation of the Studio itself should be around 1 day as well.

What makes the Studio so special? The Savanna Studio is not like any other building you may have experienced before, especially in the 'garden studio' category. What makes it special is the years it has taken to get to the perfect design, to choose the right materials, and to ensure the experience is sublime for our users.
